Philippine Electronic Cigarette Industry Association Supports Vaping Legislation

Recently, the Philippine Electronic Cigarette Industry Association, the Nicotine Consumers Association and other groups held meetings to express their support for the Philippine Parliament to enact the Electronic Cigarette Act to regulate the manufacture, sale and import of electronic cigarettes, heated cigarettes and other new tobacco products.

The e-cigarette bill supported by these groups makes clear provisions for the protection of minors, including banning the sale of e-cigarettes and heated cigarettes to minors, banning flavor descriptions in marketing, and banning the sale or use of e-cigarettes around schools. At the same time, the bill also requires e-cigarette production to meet FDA standards and prevent substandard products from being sold on the market.
